Our best asset is our staff members and we are keen to invest as much into them as possible. We currently have four apprentices and we are looking to employ at least two more this year. One of our first year apprentices, Rory Patterson has been with us since July 2017, so we decided to ask him how he has found his first year with Bojen Electrical –
1. How did you know you wanted to become an electrician?
I wanted to do a trade, I had my house rewired so tried an electrical course at college and enjoyed it so looked for an apprenticeship.
2. How are you finding your first year with Bojen Electrical?
I am finding the apprenticeship very good so far, very welcoming and nice people to work with, we get looked after well by the office and I am enjoying working on site and at college.
3. Do you feel you have you have learnt a lot so far?
Yes, I have learnt a lot at college and also get taught lots on site. I have picked up a few things from watching others.
4. What advice can you offer to anyone thinking of doing an electrical apprenticeship?
If you are interested in electrics and enjoy hands-on work then you will like being an electrician.
